About the Image & video tools
These tools help you make animated GIFs for chats and forums, and shrink photos and GIFs that are over an upload limit. Files are processed in your browser, so even a large file can be worked on right away, without waiting for an upload.
Which tool should I use?
- Video to GIF: Use it to turn a moment from a phone video into a short animated GIF.
- Images to GIF: Pick it to join several photos into a GIF that flips through them like a slideshow.
- GIF Compressor: Use it when a GIF you already have is too big to upload; it reduces the size, frames and colors.
- Image Resizer & Converter: Use it to make many photos smaller at once, or to switch them between JPG, PNG and WebP.
Before you start
Check the size limit of the place you are uploading to first, and set a target a little below it so you do not have to shrink the file twice. GIF can hold only 256 colors per frame, so it can look rougher than the original photo or video, and the file grows quickly as the clip gets longer. Very long or high-resolution videos can take a while to process, depending on your device.
Picking a scene with little movement and reducing the width makes a GIF of the same length much smaller. For photos going on the web, try WebP in the image resizer; at the same quality it often comes out smaller than JPG or PNG.
